Darfur featured in Films

There has been many films that shows the tribes of Darfur in peril due to the war, unfortunately there isn’t a positive film that shows the tribes living happily, or go in detail about how they live, the primary focus is how they feel and how they deal with the Jangaweed and the war.

The two well received rated movies are

Attack on Darfur 2009
American journalists in Sudan are confronted with the dilemma of whether to return home to report on the atrocities they have seen, or to stay behind and help some of the victims they have encountered. –imdb.com the American journalists do encounter the Jangaweed, I haven’t seen this movie but I read good things about this movie, I hear its very violent and has gore, this is a Hollywood made movie, but it shows what happens when the Jangaweed comes and destroys a tribe.

Darfur Now 2007

Academy Award-nominee Don Cheadle examines genocide in Sundan's western region through the struggles and achievements of six different individuals in Darfur.-imdb.com  I have seen this movie, it also has actor George Clooney in it, he also helps Don raise awareness and help stop the genocide. It is a pretty good movie, it’s a documentary piece, very informative, but sad to say after all their efforts, the genocide continues, and the Sudanese officials ignore their efforts.  If you go to amazon.com and type in Darfur in the movies/tv section you will find a bunch of movies on Darfur, it is mostly documentaries about the war.
